In an industry often regarded as slow to evolve, Shadow Partners is uniquely positioned with deep knowledge and expertise to offer insights on market research, strategic counsel to identify the best opportunities, assess emerging technologies, and create actionable plans all with a mission to drive innovation for the built environment through education, community, and thought leadership.

We’re on the cusp of an exponential decade for innovation in A/E/C and in an effort to further strengthen our position, this month, we’re announcing the hiring of Jeff Echols, an architect by training with 30 years of experience in the AEC industry. Jeff has consulted with firms around the world on management and operational solutions, is an M.Arch thesis advisor, and runs an AEC-focused incubator as a graduate-level course at Ball State University, where he earned his degrees in Architecture in 1993.

Under his firm echoEngagement, Jeff has guided architecture, engineering, and construction industry clients on holistic branding, marketing, and business development since 2012. For EntreArchitect™ Echols led the growth of the largest, most-engaged worldwide community of small firm architects, and created the Build Your Brand System and workshops. He also hosted the Build Your Brand podcast and daily live stream show, Context & Clarity, where he conducted more than 700 interviews with architects about their businesses.

Jeff joins the firm as a Senior Advisor and head of marketing and will be a force multiplier as we guide our AEC partners in accelerating growth and new technology adoption in the built environment.

He joins us just as Maanav Mahindru released his intriguing new research - The DIAL Innovation Benchmark - to help companies identify where they stand on the innovation spectrum. This framework is used to evaluate how a company addresses innovation by determining how many "steps" a company is away from being a Disruptor, Innovator, Adopter, or Laggard. The report uncovers a growing disconnect between innovation efforts and organizational strategy, and it offers several strategic solutions.

With the addition of Jeff to our team, you can look forward to more original research, virtual and live events like Shadow Summit, all designed to connect you with the information and resources you need to drive innovation in your organization and beyond.
